I was envisioning the fragments of the Mad God manifesting in other realities as living entities (demonic, supernatural or mundane depending on the conditions) that somehow consume other worlds, adding them to the structure of the Nexus.

I definitely need to think about it some more, that's for sure.Mark Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13648399258393669436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5194689233232773644.post-87840500752844698202010-01-06T13:14:34.036-05:002010-01-06T13:14:34.036-05:00I really, really like this idea. I am so tempted ...I really, really like this idea. I am so tempted to pick it up, but then at the same time I don't want to lose the trappings of a traditional campaign, either. It's an excellent mythic underworld design, but then, I don't want a party to get trapped within, necessarily, and I don't necessarily want a party that somehow emerges out of The Nexus to never go back in. That bears some thought.

Have you seen this? It's got some intersecting ideas that might help you flesh it out a bit. (Granted, it's a lot to read all at once, but the first several pages gives you an excellent feel for the idea.)

Also, check out this post about portals in a game world. It would be intriguing to make it such that the people in a given world use The Nexus to travel between far-flung locations in their world, but there's always the chance of running into something inside The Nexus, or worse, getting lost. Perhaps people even enter The Nexus from other locations just to ambush those using the gates for their journeys...

This whole idea should really be developed.Restlesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04586442439173490257noreply@blogger.com
